- Bathroom zones and IP ratings for plumbersWhy bath and shower rooms are split into zones, the IP rating each needs, and when work there becomes notifiable.

- Recognising electrical faults and hazards on a plumbing jobThe damage, heat, water and overload warning signs that mean stop and isolate, not patch and carry on.
- Safe electrical isolation stepsThe disciplined sequence for proving a circuit dead before working on or near it.
Calculations: Ohm’s law & power
Keep electrical awareness and practical competence separate
When revising bathroom zones, bonding or safe isolation, identify the installation conditions and what the question actually asks you to establish. Knowing a component name is different from proving that a circuit is safe to work on.
These plumbing-focused notes introduce the safety principles; try the free electrical safety questions after a topic. The 18th Edition notes cover wider electrical-installation topics, while inspection and testing revision focuses on measurements and interpretation. Reading either set does not establish practical competence.
