Standards and guidance
Cold water design in the UK draws on a small set of documents. BS EN 806 covers installations inside buildings across several parts: general, design, the simplified pipe-sizing method, installation, and operation and maintenance. BS 8558 is the UK guidance that complements BS EN 806 and BS EN 1717 and replaced the older BS 6700. Approved Document G and the Water Fittings Regulations set the legal baseline.
