The Regulations
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999, with the Water Byelaws in Scotland, set out to prevent waste, misuse, undue consumption, contamination and erroneous measurement of water supplied by a water undertaker. Any cold water design has to meet them, so fittings must be of suitable quality, correctly installed and protected against backflow.
