Building Regulations
For heating work in England, the Building Regulations set the applicable legal duties and Approved Document L gives practical guidance on energy efficiency, controls and commissioning. It is a recognised compliance route, not the legislation itself. Wales has its own Approved Documents; Scotland and Northern Ireland also use their own requirements and guidance.
